A Delicious World of Food

As the mother of a toddler, back-to-school doesn’t mean the same thing to me as it does to parents of older children. Our schedule stays relatively set whether it’s June or September. Except for Thursdays. On Thursdays, Marisa, our babysitter’s daughter, plays soccer. Thursday means figuring out what to grab for dinner on the way to pick up my daughter at the soccer field because no one likes a hungry, cranky two-year-old in the car with them during rush hour. Trust me, you don’t.

So every week, it’s all about toddler snacks in the purse and grab and “go healthy” options like Grilled Chicken at KFC, a Chicken Fajita Pita at Jack in the Box, or a Roast Beef Sandwich at Arby’s. We can have a quick snack at the field and wait out traffic or split a little bit of dinner in the car on the way home to share the rest with Papa. There are always options. Welcome to real life and the modern diet.
